Hot Sunny Sunday at Starbucks

Been really hot and sticky... Vin and I decided that we need to stay indoor just to survive.... thinking this is how a polar bear would feel at 35 degrees Celsius outside....
Ended up staying in a local Starbucks for entire day.... Did some reading and photo shooting.... Vin's been watching some DVDs in the mean time.....

From One Journal Entry While In Japan

Just got here at hotel.
I've had a great confusion with Japanese rail road system, hence took me a long time to get here [JAL hotel]. Let's just say that I passed a couple of train station, missing my get-off station.

Well, I didn't expect that Japan would be quite different from Korea. I was right in part, but there seems to be quite a difference after all. I mean I've just got here, so my experience so far may be only skin-deep.
Here are what I've found so far.

No kids. Where are kids?
Seoul is overflowed with teenagers. Train here is mostly occupied with 30's and 40's, suit wearing salary man.
Women here are generally, what's the word, "Sassy".
They know how to dress and present themselves with decent make-up and semi-business attire.
People here seem to mostly keep it to themselves. There's no loud talking on subway, or disturbing phone-conversations.
The city around here in Tamachi station has also a quite reserved atmosphere even though when I got here it was around 6 and people were busy getting to train station to get themselves home. No eating outside, drinking with co-workers, which are common scenes in Seoul around this time of the day. In fact, there doesn't even seem to be many eat-out restaurants.

I've just noticed that Japanese TV programs are quite similar to those in Korea.
Similar may be an understatement on my part. It may be an exact copy. I've also noticed that the Tom Cruise movie "War of Worlds" are titled 우주전쟁 (Space/Star Wars), which opens in Korea with the exact same title. I wonder who's copying who?

Over for now. I am hungry for anything. Heineken maybe?

My deduction is the following;
At that age, her recent relationship was probably a long one, dating someone whom she thought she would marry one day. Things didn't work out as planned. A messy break-up follows. Looks like it was someone from the same job, like a co-worker. The break-up forces her to leave the job.
She starts over at the new job,. Everything is new, people are new, the environment is new, and so is her daily routine. She is confused, having broken up with her long-time boyfriend. She is hardly keeping up with her daily matter, nonetheless she is progressing, adaping to her new life, new environment, and her new friends.

Environmental Confusion

After a short company retreat trip, I am home, feeling all blue and down.
Thinking about what has happened at the trip, the certain environmental effects still resonating with me...
Feeling restless, disoriented.... all of a sudden I realize how much I want to go back to my home in NY. I miss everything there. The sweet smell of grass, freshly mowed. The towering Empire State Building, the busy Manhattan street, all those busy, always onto something night strollers. The fast drive on LIE at 7pm. I miss my mom and I miss my dad. I miss their presence mos of all.
People here aren't all that nice to me.

Sources of High Protein Food

According to this chart, a good source of protein mainly seems to come from poultry and fish (meat, that is). To this day, I thought dairy foods would have more protein than anything else, and I was wrong. Since I am working out these days, I figure I would need all the protein I can get and eating chicken or a can of tuna for a good protein source has never occured to me.
How dumb of me to think that a glass of milk every night would make me big! Change of course. More trips to KFC...

They used to let me download (or at least display) full sized photos that had been uploaded previously, but now they don't do that any more. The only option is either view them as a rather small size photo or "order prints" through them. Hmmmm....

Things I need (rather desperately)

Well, since I've just got paid only two days ago, I figured this is a good time to sort and make a list of things I so desparately need -- As a matter of fact, I do this every month, at the beginning of each month... wondering what I need, what I can purchase with the newly desposited money in the bank, trying to flex my purchasing muscle. In the end I end up puchasing none of the things in my list, but dreaming, imagination, those two are wonderful things in every human lives, wouldn't you agree?

Clothing Department

A suit. A summer suit. A suit I can wear everyday. Comfortably, without
worrying too much about taking too many trips to local dry-cleaners.
I am in need of dark-colored shirts. I need light-colored shirts! I need white shirts, I need black shirts! I need MORE shirts! Well, here are some of the collections I have in mind.

I've had these for years back in NY. Excellent speakers. Wonderful, tight base. Can't think of a better choice for computer speakers for some two hundred dollors.

Let's see what else I need.... Oy! I need some sleep, or I will be late for tomorrow's gym or completely miss it and endure my granddad's weary gazes during tomorrow's breakfast -- more like this. "Son, You have no self-wills whatsoever! I am calling your parents in NY and let them know how miserably you failed to show up on the first day at a gym".
Yikes.... I am going to sleep. Besides, it's not like I can purchase any of those above with this Korean currency and Korea's unfair trading block system in place.
I guess here we have more olive trees than lexuses.... Alas...

First of Lilacs Season

I've found this lilac tree have just started to bloom this morning at my place with grandpa.
My so-called g/f visited me this morning and took some dead branches/stems out from that tree. When I came back out to check on her, she had already made a mass and the yard had quickly been piled up with dead lilac branches. Yikes! Afraid that grandpa would find out about this and get mad, I somehow managed to clear up the mass, but I suspect that it would be a matter of time before he finds out since the only thing I did was to move the mass from "A" to "B".
Out of the mass, there was this one stem with fresh lilacs on. I've brought it in and I realize that my grandpa wasn't kidding when he once told me that the scent of lilacs from the front yard tree would last all throughout Spring and is indeed strong (scent, that is). You can smell it even with windows closed!
The stem I've brought in is spreading a strong lilac scent in my room and I've come to like it (even though I am sniffling and snizzing like crazy ever since...).
I'm thinking, if this small amount of lilac can have this strong scent, imagine a whole tree of them. Suddenly, I've got greedy. Maybe, I will take some from the front yard, a little by little everyday, collect them in a jar and create a lilac aroma-therapy session every morning right in my room!

People can't help with their possessive nature. I say, "I only want to preserve their scent and lock it in my room". Now, who's going to blame me for that?

I've been drinking for this moment... even though my typing may be slow and erratic....
Who are you to say what's right and wrong? Who are you to judge?
Are you sometimes wrong or right? Didn't you find that it's hard to do the right thing all the time?
Temptation is hard to avoid.... Are you the type who enjoys life, pleasing yourself all the way, right or wrong?
Or are you following your life according to your own belief deciding what's right or wrong?
Life suddenly doesn't matter when you don't have anything. You live the life the way you want. But when you have an expectation, a greed, the purpose of a life changes.... you live for that purpose, or that greed.... Is that necessarily bad? Having an expectation or greed? People say life becomes hard when you fall from a so-called "high-life" to a low-life... All your expectations, all yours hopes don't meet the current realities, and that's when you are feeling the most "unhappy"
So, how should we live our own life? Unambitiously? I've heard that people in Philippines feel the most happiness compared to other people in, say the US. Is the happiness measured in how ignorant you are, or how poor you are?
This may be the most basic question surrounding the purpose of your life and the entire human beings... yet, we keep asking the questions and no one has a definite answer.... It's really up to you... Whatever you believe would lead you to a happy life, you follow.... No one would be the judge of that....
It' your life... No one's ever lived a right life like your parents.... ever.... Remember that.....
